Why This Comparison Matters
Disclosure: Published by EZQR.
Uniqode (formerly Beaconstac) was once one of the more affordable QR platforms. After the Mobstac acquisition, prices doubled. The entry plan jumped from $5/mo to $7/mo. The mid-tier went from $15/mo to $49/mo. Existing customers were not grandfathered into old pricing. G2 and Reddit reviews document the backlash.
If you're evaluating Uniqode today, you're paying $49/mo (billed annually at $588/year) for their Pro plan. EZQR Pro is $10/mo, billed monthly. No annual commitment required. That's a $468/year difference for similar core features. Last verified: April 2026. We've been fair about Uniqode's strengths throughout.

Key Differences
Real free tier vs. credit card required: EZQR offers unlimited static codes and 3 dynamic codes without a signup. Uniqode has no free tier and requires a credit card to start. Many EZQR users stay on the free plan permanently.
Most Uniqode users pay $30–50+/mo: Uniqode's $5/mo tier doesn't include what most businesses actually need. Customers typically end up at $30–50+/mo once they configure the features they came for. EZQR's Pro at $10/mo covers what most SMBs need.
Uniqode wins on compliance and integrations: HIPAA, SOC 2, ISO 27001 certifications and 1,000+ pre-built integrations (Salesforce, HubSpot, Slack). EZQR has GDPR self-declaration and SSL/TLS, but lacks paid compliance certifications. If you're in healthcare, finance, or government, Uniqode is the right call.
Scannability check is EZQR-only: EZQR validates codes against ISO/IEC 18004 before export. Catches broken codes before you print 5,000 copies. Uniqode doesn't offer this.
The rebrand didn't change the product: Beaconstac became Uniqode in 2024. Same product, new name, sharper enterprise focus. If you're reading old Beaconstac reviews from 2022–2023, they describe today's Uniqode.

Step 1 — Export your Uniqode data: Download your QR code list and destination URLs from the Uniqode dashboard.
